Our first date happened in West Philly on a leap day in 2020. A few weeks later, the world shut down, forcing everyone into isolation. We spent hours on the phone, watched one another nod off during virtual dates, and took occasional walks, keeping some distance between us. We soon decided to share space, going back and forth to each other's places. We waited patiently for the world to wake, excited for a future as a couple. But as we settled into our relationship and the world opened up, our professional ambitions would physically separate us. It seemed distance was our annoying third wheel. Still, we recognized our connection was special and worth the bus and plane trips. Now, after nearly four years of travelling back and forth to be with one another, we are finally TOGETHER together!
