We had just celebrated our 4th anniversary on September 21st, so Sam suggested we have a date night and go somewhere nice. He made reservations at Cecconi's in DUMBO down by The Brooklyn Bridge. We both love the area, and it was the spot of our 3rd or 4th date, where in true NYC form grabbed a few slices and sat on a concrete block in Brooklyn Bridge Park, discussing life and what we want out of it. It rained most of the day, but as we were about to leave the sun started coming out, which I was excited about because it meant we'd most likely have an epic sunset. If you know me, I love a good sunset, especially by the water and always get excited when it's an epic one! After a delicious meal, we were about to leave after I came back from the restroom and he told me I think you left something under your napkin. I didn't remember putting anything there, but when I checked there was a jewelry box, I didn’t think it would be the ring, since he always told me he wouldn’t ask in front of a bunch of people… can’t ask for more people than at a restaurant in one of the most touristy spots in the city. I opened the box, and then closed it, then opened it again asking "Is this what I think it is?", and he said yes! I think my response was thank you because the ring was so pretty and I was so surprised… Needless to say, after I stopped crying, he officially asked and I said yes! What was even nicer was a person at the table next to us realized what was happening and took pictures of the moment, and once the other tables also realized what was happening, we had the whole restaurant wishing us congratulations!
