I moved to Fairhope, AL in December 2014. My mom had moved there three months prior and had quickly become a "local." She insisted I go to this little seafood shack because there was a very nice young man there, he was cute, and he had a JOB! I walked into Fresh Seafood with full intentions of introducing myself and starting a conversation. When I walked in I saw Tyler and my whole world stopped. No literally, it stopped. It was like a movie (of course he doesnt remember that part...). When it came my turn to order, all I could muster out was "One pound of the large, please." I smiled and quickly left to jump back in the car with my mom. "What did he say?" she asked excitedly. "I couldn't say anything..." I spent the rest of that day trying to figure out why, because no one has ever left me speechless. Over the next few months I put on my "cute clothes", did my hair, and obsessed over my makeup everytime I would plan to go there. I would walk in to get shrimp and Tyler and I would have small conversations, but nothing below the surface. I decided he must be dating someone and I left him be. I gave up. One evening mom called me and told me she needed me to get a pound of shrimp for dinner. I explained to her that even if I left now Fresh Seafood would be closed before I arrived. She told me I had to go. So, with my hair on top of my head, sweatpants, and no makeup on, I sped up to the seafood shop and burst through the doors just as Tyler was packing up for the day. He gave me what I asked for (plus more) and a coworker handed me his number. I was ecstatic! Finally!! But there was no way I was going to look desperate, so I decided to give it a few days. That night, I got a friend request from "Tyler Welch" I thought it was probably just a weird cousin, so I accepted. To my pleasant surprise, we were not related. It was the seafood guy! He had looked at my card and found me! The rest is history, and now we are getting married all thanks to some shrimp!
