How We Met

Ethan and Grace met in 2024 on a blind date at Watermark Country Club. The introduction came from Ethan’s mom, who met Grace while coaching at Spoke Cycle & Strength and thought they’d get along. What started as a simple setup turned into something real pretty quickly. That first date led to a relationship built on a lot of laughter, shared values, and a connection they didn’t see coming—but are really glad they found.

More to Our Love Story

Over the next year, Ethan and Grace kept seeing each other, making time for dates and weekends together whenever they could. While Ethan finished his degree at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Grace was doing the same at Michigan State University in East Lansing. They spent weekends going to football games, visiting each other, and taking a few trips along the way. Over time, those regular weekends and shared experiences helped build a strong, steady relationship.

Building our Life

As their relationship grew, so did their day-to-day lives. They got to know each other’s families, spending time together at holidays, birthdays, and the occasional Sunday dinner. It all started to feel pretty natural being part of each other’s worlds, and in May 2025, they decided to move in together. Since then, they’ve settled into life as a team—balancing bigger milestones with simple nights at home, and continuing to build a life together one step at a time.

The Proposal

03.14.2026

During a snowy weekend in Traverse City, Ethan and Grace spent some time at Bonobo Winery, walking through the vineyards covered in fresh snow. Everything felt really still and quiet, which made the moment even more special. While they were out there, Ethan got down on one knee and asked Grace to marry him—and she said yes. It was a simple but meaningful moment that felt very true to them, and one they’ll always remember.
