It started with a conversation, that turned into splitting a beer, and dancing the night away. It went from an "I don't text, you can call me", to an I see your call and raise you a "When can we FaceTime?". It's gone from NJ to PA and back again and again. It grew from "will you make memories with me?" to "will you be mine forever?".
As you can imagine, when a boy from NJ meets a girl from HI living in PA, deciding which side of the country to celebrate on is not easy! So naturally we decided not to decide and just do both. We did this with our families and friends in mind, as we understand traveling those distances isn't always feasible. We were so happy to throw the Céilí in New Jersey to ensure we got the chance to celebrate with our family and friends primarily from the East Coast! Thank you for making it one of the most magical nights of our lives! The second half of our wedding celebrations will be much smaller and held in Leslie's hometown to ensure her parents, who were unable to join us in New Jersey, are able to be a part of the celebrations. While we wish we could invite everyone to both events, the pā’ina happening in Hawai’i will be held at Leslie's parent's home. This meant we had to consider the family and friends who we were unable to celebrate with yet when deciding the guest list for the second event. * Céilí : A traditional Gaelic social gathering that can be as simple as a social visit, or it can include music, dancing, and storytelling. * Pā’ina : Pāʻina is a Hawaiian word that can refer to a dinner and small party. It's a way to gather people together to celebrate life and bond over food.
