In summer 2018 I was working at Verizon and was asked to assist with a problem a business customer was having. Little did I know I was about to see my Future Father-in-law and Husband standing to the side of the sales floor. Alas, Ryan didn't notice me (Even with me in my head hoping otherwise). I was left with only telling my best friend about the handsome guy that came into work that day. Fast forward to the following December I am working a busy shift at the store when a manager sent a customer over. When I looked up I saw that same guy that I had awed over this summer! He had come in with a broken phone and I was able to get it working but not before I got the guts to talk to him! After he had left I decided to take fate into my hands and follow up with him on his phone. This ended up being the best idea yet because he asked me out on a date! After that date, he asked me on another the very next day and since then we have been inseparable! It's safe to say Ryan is my best friend, my advisor, my biggest fan, and my partner :)
I was busy working when I got a text from the Verizon Representative to see if my new phone was restoring correctly. She was being quite thorough. And Flirty. Apparently she was flirting with me in the store as well, but I was too upset to notice because of my phone being broken. It wasn't long before I asked her out. I couldn't get enough of her. Three years later, both return policies have expired, and we are getting married!
One of my favorite things to do with Ryan & the boys is to take a walk at the end of the day, This particular day the sunset was so beautiful and the perfect lighting for a couple's photo. Once we reached the end of the lane I took out my phone to get the shot with Ryan right behind me. After I took the photo I couldn't tell if the photo turned out so I raised my phone again to get a second shot. However, I quickly realized that I was the only one in the shot. I turned around to find Ryan and what I saw would change my life forever. The man of my dreams was down on one knee with a stunning ring! My mind was racing and I said the most romantic thing I could think of... "Are you joking?" I know eloquent right lol. Ryan laughed and said "No, will you marry me?" After the tears started to stop he had to remind me that I hadn't given him an answer and I happily said "YES!"
There were a handful of times I would have proposed, I just didn't have a ring. I knew she was the one. I just had to find the right ring. When I finally found it, the first thing I wanted to do was give it to her. Anyone who knows me knows I'm not good at secrets or surprises. I wanted to go on a walk down the lane (like we so often do) and propose. When I got home from the Jewelry store I tried to propose, but we were late for Nora's birthday party. I couldn't get her to go. I had to wait. I don't like waiting. The whole birthday party I couldn't think about much besides slipping it on her finger. But how? I ended up waiting until we were back to the farmhouse and I was prepared to force her on the walk by any means necessary this time. Twist her arm. Drag her. Carry her piggyback style if need be. Luckily she wanted to go! It was the perfect night for a walk with the dogs. The sun was setting, and she wanted to take a selfie together. She got on her phone and I got down on one knee.
