Mutual friends set us up thinking we might hit it off because we are both "quirky". Emily almost didn't want to go out with Jason because he is from Long Island. Jason was into Emily right off the bat (obviously), but it took Emily until date 4 to realize she was super into him too! After two weeks of nonstop texting while Jason was in Thailand with his other girlfriend (Jeff), Emily and Jason picked up where they left off. After a romantic rain soaked Governor's Ball weekend, Emily asked Jason "so should I delete all my dating apps?" and they officially became BF&GF. On July 4th, 2016 after Emily tricked Jason into a grueling hike in Lake George, they admitted over dinner in Saratoga that they were in love with each other :)
Jason planned a surprise birthday dinner for Emily at the magical Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Emily was only slightly suspecting of what might happen, but her sneaky sister threw her off course. At dinner, the staff played into the birthday theme, and Jason presented Emily with a beautiful birthday necklace, which put all thoughts of engagement out of her mind. After multiple courses of intricately plated dishes of foie gras and foraging for mushrooms, the pair was taken on an adventure to the "Manure Shed" to have one of their courses. The shed was candlelit and filled with gorgeous dry flowers, so naturally Emily was taking selfies of the two of them. Finally, Jason said "enough with the selfies! I do have something else for you..." and dropped down to one knee. Jason cried and Emily yelled yes. It was a perfect surprise and proposal!
As many of you know, we both loved camp. From being campers for years to working as counselors, camp holds a very special place in our hearts. We want this weekend to be filled with fun, love, games and s'mores! We have free rein over the camp from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning for sports, water activities, games and bonfires, as well as a chef to prepare all the meals. We would love to have our family and friends spend the weekend with us swimming, playing, eating, drinking, dancing, and campfiring.
