Since middle school, to youth group, to marching band, Zach and Sarah were always around each other. In 2015, their junior year in high school, Zach and Sarah decided to give it a go. Turns out that it was not the right time for either of them. Fast forward to February of 2016, Sarah had torn her ACL playing soccer. Zach noticed that this was a more serious injury than she had dealt with in the past. He would go on to message her and keep her company during her recovery. Once again, they had started talking more and more. Right before their senior year started, Sarah invited Zach over and they started to hang out again. One thing led to another and Zach asked Sarah to be his girlfriend on September 4th, 2016.

While on vacation together in the Outer Banks in July 2021, Sarah's sister Megan was taking pictures of them under Jeanette's Pier in North Carolina. Zach started talking a few minutes into pictures, and they walked out from under the pier onto the open beach. (Sarah could tell something was going on.) After almost 5 years together, some special words were said, and Zach got down on one knee and asked Sarah if she would marry him! She of course said yes... before he was even finished asking! Now they are happily engaged and looking forward to celebrating their love with family and friends.
