For anyone looking for a fun and easy day trip, taking the ferry to Lānaʻi is a great option. Māʻalaea Harbor is approximately 20–25 minutes from the Andaz by car and is easily accessible by Uber or rental car. The ferry ride is about one hour each way and feels more like a scenic boat excursion, with beautiful ocean views and the chance to spot dolphins along the way. Once you arrive, Lānaʻi offers a secluded, relaxed island feel and is home to the beautiful Four Seasons Resort Lanai, along with beaches, restaurants, shops, and island tours. It’s a great way to experience another Hawaiian island without needing to take an additional flight.
Haleakalā is one of Maui’s most unforgettable experiences and is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours from the Andaz, depending on traffic and any stops along the way. We recommend renting a car or booking a guided tour for this one. Sunrise and sunset are both incredible, but be sure to bring layers, as temperatures at the summit can be much colder than at the beach.
A Maui favorite and one of the island’s most iconic restaurants, Mama’s Fish House is known for its fresh seafood, stunning oceanfront setting, and unforgettable dining experience. Located about a 30-minute drive from the Andaz, it’s well worth the trip. Reservations are highly recommended and should be made as far in advance as possible, as tables often book up months ahead. Reservations for our wedding weekend are now open, so we encourage you to book as soon as possible if you’d like to dine there during your stay.
The Road to Hana is one of Maui’s most iconic experiences, featuring scenic coastal views, waterfalls, beaches, and countless stops along the way. The drive begins in Paia, approximately 45 minutes from the Andaz, and is typically a full-day adventure. We recommend renting a car or booking a guided tour and getting an early start to make the most of the day. If you plan to drive yourself, it’s helpful to download a guide or map in advance, as cell service can be limited in some areas.
