Although the stories may be slightly different, we met at Sterling College in the cafeteria. The first interactions were not so lovely. But fast forward a year, we both became acquaintances and realized that our first impressions of each other were completely off. During Jeff's Senior year, he asked Lauren to create a tattoo for him, which is now the tattoo on his left arm. A few months later Covid hit and the school was going remote and most of the campus was returning back to their homes. Lauren and Jeff remained in Sterling and hung out for several days and got to know each other and spent quarantine making food, watching movies, and playing with Lauren's pup Cash. After a few weeks Jeff returned to Colorado with his family while Lauren stayed back in Sterling. Realizing that they both didn't want to end things there they decided to jump into a long-distance relationship. Lauren eventually visited Jeff in Colorado over the summer multiple times and got to know his family. By the time Lauren's senior year started they had talked about what would happen after college several times. Lauren finished school in December 2020 and moved out to Colorado to start an internship with Colorado Rapids, they found a home in Thornton, CO and spent 2 years in their home. Jeff was offered a job in Wisconsin so we both picked up everything and moved there. We ended up being in Wisconsin for a little less than 2 months before he was offered a different job in Colorado Springs, which we were both interested in taking as we could be closer to family. In October 2022 we moved to Colorado Springs. The discussions started to consist more of marriage and what the future would hold. On October 10, 2023 Jeff created a plan to surprise Lauren on a hike in the mountains where he would end up proposing.
