Nick and Alexia met their freshman year at Loyola University Chicago (Go Blers!). Neither were Chicago natives, so it was refreshing to have a new place to explore. After a variety of awkward glances, Nick took a leap of faith and invited Alexia to a "Dinner Crawl" where restaurants around the Roger's Park neighborhood would offer free samples to students to get more familiar with the area. The pair later realized it was essentially a trendy way to advertise restaurants that would suck their wallets dry. After some snacks that neither could justify paying full price for, the aspiring urban explorers attempted to make their way back to campus. A few wrong turns later, they ended up about 11 miles out of the way. This gave more time to chat and get to know one another on their corrected journey back. Fast forward to a rainy fall afternoon in Chicago where Alexia and Nick wander the Chicago Art Institute. No date would be complete without sweaty palms, awkward conversations, and sneaking glances at one another. Luckily this art museum was a enclosed space so we weren't able to get too lost. After gabbing in a nearby coffee shop, the two moved forward with a relationship. Not before Alexia could naively bolt into traffic to avoid the Midwest downpour that day. After years of unflattering mid-chomp pictures and spontaneous trips - the two are finally walking (far less than 11 miles) down the aisle.
