We are so excited to post this update as we have received the official “OK” to proceed with our wedding as planned on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Chestnut Ridge! We are elated and relieved that we can finally get married and will have the opportunity to celebrate with the ones we care about most. We are asking guests to please update their RSVP status by September 16, 2020. You can do so by clicking the “RSVP” tab in the upper right hand corner and entering your name as it appeared on your original invitation. From there you will be able to RSVP to our wedding weekend events. Given the current climate our vendors and venue are going above and beyond to make sure guests and vendor teams are staying safe and comfortable. We ask all guests to please use common sense and courtesy and not attend if you are demonstrating symptoms of the virus or believe you may have been in contact with someone who is currently positive. We will be providing masks to all guests in our welcome bags, to those utilizing transportation, and at the venue for your comfort. Additionally, our venue has assured us they perform frequent cleanings and have implemented a microbial Gold Shield treatment that is performed routinely to act as a barrier on surfaces. An email was sent outlining all of the safety and sanitization measures our vendors are taking to keep everyone's safety in mind. If for some reason you did not receive this email and would like a copy of the document please let us know. We cannot wait to celebrate with you all as your love and support means so very much to us during these unprecedented times! Hard to believe this wedding has been 3 years in the making. Thank goodness love is not canceled! If you cannot attend, please hold us in your hearts on Friday, October 30, 2020 as we take our vows to each other. This is not how we envisioned entering married life, but we are doing so with an even greater appreciation of life and love. With love, Samantha & Adam
They met like many couples do these days, online, for all of about ten minutes before Samantha deleted her online profile (she was not a fan of her 24 hour experience with online dating). Adam was fearful that we would never meet and that his pleasantries of “Hi, how are you”? were enough to turn her away. A few days later they met for real, by chance, at a local spot in downtown Orlando (Basement). She recognized Adam's brother, Matt, who she knew from undergrad at the University of Central Florida. They got to chatting and she was introduced to Adam and his cousin, Sean. Adam immediately recognized Samantha from their brief online dating experience. He had been hoping for an opportunity to meet her in person and here it was. The two have always felt their chance meeting was serendipitous - a chance meeting after Adam was sure she had fallen off the face of the Earth. A month and a half later Samantha moved back to her hometown four hours away but never forgot about Adam. They kept in contact and six months later they began dating long distance and six years later, here they are.
Adam proposed on the one year anniversary of the passing of Samantha's father (6/1/16). The two had planned to have dinner and watch the sunset in remembrance of her dad, Dick. They stopped at the Esplanade for some pre-dinner drinks when suddenly Adam canceled their drink order and took her by the hand down to the docks. He led her onto an unknown boat where there were flowers waiting stating that they would be visiting the exact coordinates where she had spread her father's ashes one year prior. Of course, Samantha immediately broke down in tears as she was so touched by this thoughtful gesture. Adam's high school friend, Josh Ferris, walked up soon after and announced he would be our captain for the ride. Once they reached 25.58'40/81.45'053, Samantha and Adam walked to the bow of the boat to drop flowers into the water. Samantha immediately heard "Carried Away" by George Strait (one of their favorites) start playing and turned to Adam with a smile, "good song." As she stood up to walk back to her seat she noticed Adam remained on one knee and reached into his pocket. He asked her to spend the rest of their lives together and of course she said "YES!"
