FLYING INTO SPLIT The most convenient airport to get to the Island of Hvar is Split SPU airport. It is also known as Resnik airport and it is the international airport serving the area of Split. You can also fly into to Dubrovnik DBV. Dubrovnik Ruđer Bošković Airport, also referred to as Čilipi Airport. It is the international airport of Dubrovnik, Croatia. The airport is located approximately 9.5 mi from Dubrovnik city centre, near Čilipi. It is the third-busiest airport in Croatia in 2019 after Zagreb Airport and Split Airport in terms of passengers. IF FLYING DELTA AIRLINES: The best way to travel is to book two separate flights. One flight from the US to Europe. And then a separate flight from Europe to Croatia. For example, we will fly Delta from Detroit to Amsterdam. We will then book a separate flight (ie KLM, Lufthansa, Aer Lingus, Croatia Airline) from Amsterdam to Split/Dubrovnik Airport.

FROM THE SPLIT AIRPORT TO THE PORT: FERRY LOCATION Split Airport is a ~30 minute drive from the Split port. There are regular shuttle buses heading into the city, but for convenience get an Uber or taxi. If you prefer to get a pre-booked private car in advance from airport to the port, see link below. Once you get to the Split Port, you will take an hour long ferry to Hvar Town. FROM THE DUBROVNIK AIRPORT TO THE PORT: FERRY LOCATION Dubrovnik ferry terminal is located in Kantafig area of Gruz bay, 8 miles from the Old historic part of the town. Dubrovnik airport is ~30 minutes from the Dubrovnik ferry terminal. Once you land, you can take a private pre-booked transfer (see link below), or take a taxi/Uber. There are also shuttle buses running from the airport towards Dubrovnik (stops at main bus station, minutes away from the ferry terminal). It takes 30 – 40 minutes by bus. WHAT TO DO AFTER ARRIVING IN HVAR TOWN: You walk from the Hvar port to find taxis waiting to take you to you lodging. You can also make arrangements with your hotel. TAXI SERVICES: Negotiate your price in advance for cost of trip. Cost from airport to ferry ~40 to 45 euros. From Port to hotel ~10 to 15 euros PRIVATE CAR TRANSFER: If you prefer pre-booked transfer from airport to ferry go to https://getbytransfer.com/en/dubrovnik-airport-dubrovnik FERRY TRANSFER: For more information on ferries and to purchase your ferry tickets, use the link https://www.ferrycroatia.com/en/ Once you book your flight, you should coordinate your arrival to the airport, to the departure of the ferry. You should take into consideration travel time from the airport to the ferry ports. It is suggested that you PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE due to start of high season. If planning to drive a rental car from Dubrovnik/Europe, you must park it somewhere in Split, as there are no car ferries to Hvar city. If you would like to have your car in Hvar, there is a car ferry available at a different port.

FROM THE DUBROVNIK AIRPORT TO THE PORT: FERRY TRANSFER TO HVAR Dubrovnik ferry terminal is located in Kantafig area of Gruz bay, 8 miles from the Old historic part of the town. The airport of Dubrovnik is located around 22 km from the Dubrovnik ferry terminal. Once you land, you can take a pre-booked transfer (32 euros), or take a taxi/Uber (that will take you directly to the ferry terminal, 35 euros). There are also shuttle buses running from the airport towards Dubrovnik (stops at main bus station, located minutes away from the ferry terminal). The ticket is around 40 kuna (5 euros), takes 30 – 40 minutes. If driving along the coast from Dubrovnik, it will take 3 hours to Split, and another hour on the boat from there. If you rent a car, you will end up having to park it somewhere in Split, as to Hvar city there are no car ferries and the main Spilt port.
