Dane and I met during the third year of our studies. It just so happened that I needed help with my Orthopaedic block - something that Dane was really good at! After working so well together at that hospital, we started spending a lot of time together and got to know each other really well. As fate would have it, we were placed on the same first and second rotation in our final year of studies. We spent 6 weeks in Robertson together on our Community block where we began to fall in love without even knowing it. After taking his sweet time, Dane finally plucked up the courage to ask me out. We shared the most amazing graduation, Christmas and New Years together with our families at the end of 2016. In 2017, we went our separate ways for our Community Service year to Kimberley and Welkom respectively - which was set to be a real test for our relationship. As it turned out, the long distance relationship strengthened our bond and showed our true commitment to each other. On the 26th of November 2017, my world spiraled into europhia. Dane got down on one knee and asked me to marry him on a cold and windy day on the Milnerton Golf Links with the magnificent Table Mountain as a backdrop - a place so special to the both of us. This is just the beginning of our story, we cannot wait to see what the future holds for us. In just a few weeks from now I will be marrying my best friend!
