She was born in Colombia, and he in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Her family later moved to Costa Rica, where she learned English while supporting an English (foreign language) congregation. Meanwhile, he was working hard to reach his goal of being invited to Bethel, which—coincidentally—was also her dream. Both of them pioneered and developed an even stronger relationship with Jehovah and they took the time to fulfill their goals while single. Now they were ready to enter an exciting new chapter of their lives. Rich was called to Bethel in 2009 at age 20. After serving in Brooklyn for 5 years he was transferred to Warwick and has been serving there full-time since then. When Leidy moved to New Jersey to support theocratic projects like Ramapo, Jehovah called her to Bethel where she served full-time at Fishkill for a year. How they met: At her “going away to Bethel” party the friends threw for her. He was invited by a mutual friend , but only after confirming that he also likes to dance. It was there that he saw her dancing, her curls flowing—curls that, according to him, were hard to resist. But Richard knew it wasn’t the right time, so he continued faithfully in his assignment and let her focus on hers too. A year later, after Leidy was reassigned and was now serving in a Portuguese congregation in a need-greater area, they saw each other again. This time, he felt that it would be a good time to make a move. And guess what? He did! Then, on 11/6/2024 he asked her to be his girlfriend—at the perfect time—because she already knew she loved talking to him and being around him. Then, on 09/06/2025 they got engaged! He asked her “So now I request you, lady, that we love one another.” (2 John 5) in Spanish. And she replied: “Yes, and a thousand times yes!” They have been assigned to the field after marriage and look forward to continuing their full time service to Jehovah. Excited to see what direction Jehovah will send them! And guess what? They’re getting married on 11/22—a date they chose as a constant reminder that Jehovah (the 1) must always be the most essential part of their relationship. And they (2) must take Him into account at all times. Since a three fold cord will never fail, 11/22 symbolizes “repetition for emphasis” so they continue seeking Jehovah from now into eternity! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Celebrate with us as we symbolize our love for each other and for the One who united us—Jehovah. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
