Like many modern love stories, ours began online — on Hinge in the middle of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Chris was living in Grass Valley and Zoey was in Sacramento, but distance didn’t stop either of us from taking a chance. We met for the first time on August 14, 2020, at Drake’s Barn in Sacramento, and from the very first conversation, everything just felt easy. Natural. Right. After that first date, we were pretty much inseparable. Every weekend, one of us would make the drive — Sacramento to Grass Valley or Grass Valley back to Sacramento — just to spend time together. Those early years were filled with simple joys: long drives, cozy dinners, movie nights, and realizing how deeply we loved being in each other’s company. In 2023, we took our next big step and moved to Rohnert Park, settling into a life that felt like ours. One of our favorite parts of that life has been exploring the world together. We’ve wandered tropical beaches in Hawaii, soaked up sun and culture in Mexico, enjoyed snowy escapes in Colorado, and indulged our inner kids with magical trips to Disneyland. Traveling has become one of our greatest shared joys — not just the destinations, but the memories made side by side. At home, we’ve built another shared love: cooking together. Whether we’re grilling on warm evenings, baking something sweet on a lazy Sunday, or trying new recipes we discover on TikTok, the kitchen has become one of our happiest places — full of laughter, experimentation, and a lot of really good food. On November 23, 2025, Chris planned a surprise sunset picnic overlooking the coast in Jenner. As the sun dipped into the ocean, he asked me to marry him — and I said yes! We’ve shared so many adventures already, from traveling the world to perfecting new recipes to bingeing shows on quiet nights in. Now, we’re ready for the biggest adventure yet — a lifetime together.
