It wasn't out of the ordinary that in late October 2018 David and Lynette packed their bags to visit Belize for the Belize Mission Project with Lynette's Dad (Al). It was their second trip with the BMP and they could not have been more excited to get there. Their week flew by by working hard and enjoying the beautiful country and its people. Friday morning came and as always the sunrise at Xanadu Resort in San Pedro was nothing but stunning. David and Lynette had planned on getting some photos together with the beautiful sunrise with the help of Al's amazing camera skills! In fact, TeamDL tries to get at least one nice photo to commemorate all of their trips together. Again-- nothing out of the ordinary... or so Lynette thought. David and Al were roomies in Belize and both spent the night tossing and turning waiting for the big moment. That Friday morning they were up before the sun and waiting on the dock for Lynette to arrive. Lynette woke up refreshed and ready to snap a few photos before carrying on for a day full of mission work in the hot sun. As she headed down towards the dock from her room, she soaked up the warm tropical breeze. She saw David and Al waiting for her, goofing off and laughing as they typically do. As she got to them, they exchanged good mornings and they all took in the gorgeous view of the Caribbean Sea. Looking up they noticed the moon-- and this is where things start to get fuzzy for Lynette! "Hey! It's a toenail!" is all that Lynette remembers David saying in reference to the moon, before she was in his arms for what she thought was a good morning hug. Then, she hears "I love you.... so much...." And JUST the way David said that.... Lynette had a feeling. She paused. Widened her eyes. Looked at him... and said "no!!!!!" in disbelief. From there, the proposal happened, all while shakily being recorded on Al's GoPro. Words were exchanged. [Happy] tears were shed. The most important part, is that she said "YES" to forever.
