Our story began in December 2019 with fun conversations over a casual Friday night date, and continued two days later on our second date. Soon after midnight on January 1, our relationship became official. After meeting families, going on weekend getaways, and date nights spent trying new recipes, we found ourselves innocently discussing where we saw things going. Unsurprisingly, we discovered that we agreed on many things and our relationship began to progress, with the understanding that Megan and Indigo were a package deal. The next several months were spent navigating a pandemic, which meant spending a lot of time together, learning to do new things, and watching never before seen movies and TV series (some of which we aren’t proud of). In September 2020, we decided it was time to take our next major step forward, and moved into our home together. Here we have made more memories than we can possibly count, added our second dog, and found we share a love of hosting friends and family as often as we can for any reason that we can. In November 2021, John took the opportunity to talk to Megan’s dad. After receiving his blessing, he began discussing plans for a proposal with Megan’s closest friends. With help and advice from friends on both sides, John decided the best time and place to propose was in Boone, North Carolina , soon after midnight on January 1, surrounded by some of our closest friends. Megan very happily said yes, and John found himself able to breathe again. Soon after, we set a date for our big day and we are so fortunate to be able to celebrate (and party) with our closest friends and family at a venue we have talked about since the early stages of our relationship. On March 4, 2023 our story adds its next chapter. We are excited beyond words to celebrate with our favorite people in the world, and we look forward to seeing everyone on our special day.
