Sam and Shelley met online, through a dating app called “Hinge”, during the beginning of the Pandemic. Since everything was shut down, Sam and Shelley had to be creative and didn’t have the “typical” first dates. Their first few dates included walking Drake (Shelley’s dog), game nights that included way too much tequila, and A LOT of outdoor dinner dates. It didn’t take long for them to know it was time to delete “Hinge”.

Christmas 2021, Sam and Shelley were exchanging their gifts. Sam said he had one final gift for Shelley, it was a binder with fourteen pocket sleeves and the sweetest love letter inside. Over the course of the next four months, Sam would leave love letters to Shelley around the house, in her car or spontaneously surprise her with one which slowly filled out the binder. In April of 2022, Sam and Shelley took a vacation to Lake Tahoe, California. While exploring Lake Tahoe, they made several stops at scenic lookouts. The last stop they made was at Burnt Cedar Beach. They walked out to the peninsula to take in the beautiful views of Lake Tahoe. Sam decided this was the perfect spot to give Shelley the fourteenth, final, letter. As Shelley got to the end of the letter, she turned around to see Sam on one knee where he asked her the easiest question she has had to answer. Little did Shelley know that each of the fourteen letters began with a specific letter which when putting all of the letters together spelled out “WILL YOU MARRY ME”. It was truly the best vacation celebrating! We can't wait to celebrate our love with all of the friends and family who have been so important in our journey together!
