In 2014, we both started as freshmen at East Catholic High School. Throughout high school, we were friends, mostly due to our shared interest in lacrosse, but our relationship was never more than friends and classmates. Little did our 14-year-old selves know, the love of our life was sitting next to us in Honor's US History class. We both went to college and somewhat stayed in touch (via Snapchat), but everything changed in 2020 when we came home mid-lacrosse season due to the COVID pandemic. After the chaos quieted, we decided to meet up at a lacrosse field for some (distanced) social interaction with people other than our parents. From that day on, we were inseparable, even through 2 years of finishing college in different states. Once we both finished college in 2022, we moved to Cumberland, RI together as Alexa completed her MBA and Jack found his passion for teaching. By October 2023, we moved to Kennebunk, ME for Alexa's job. That same job took us to Asheville, NC just 8 months later. Then, on July 20, 2024, we made the spontaneous (and slightly irresponsible) decision to adopt Marty McFly, a bernedoodle filled with love, energy, and a passion for destroying our home decor. Since then, the three of us have made a home and a little family here in Asheville. Now... you are probably wondering how Jack popped the big question. On October 4, 2025, Jack got down on one knee at Giant's Neck Beach in Niantic, CT after five and a half years of our love story. This is the place where we spent the majority of our first year together. Where we realized we were more than friends. It was where we fell in love. Where we said "I love you" to each other for the first time. So, it was only fitting for the start of our forever to be there, too.
