Bowen and I met on Hinge (yes a dating app) in December of 2023. I was home from Liberty and Bowen was living in Phoenixville while attending UTI (Universal Technical Institute) and getting his Cummins certification. Bowen commented on my profile that Morgan Wallen was better than Zach Bryan to which I promptly disagreed and then ghosted him. But as fate (which I believe to be the Lord) we ALSO matched on Facebook dating. After that I figured I should give him a shot and I agreed to go out with him. We went on our first date on December 16th, Bowen brought me flowers and chocolate and I immediately knew he was going to be different. In fact, I didn’t tell any of my friends about him for quite a while because I didn’t want to jinx it. He asked me to be his girlfriend on January 12, 2024. We dated for a month in person before I headed back to Liberty and we’ve been long distance since then. I visited Bowen in Alaska in May of 2024 and I began to fall in love with Alaska. We’ve spent the last two years going back and forth between Virginia, Alaska and PA. Bowen was incredibly diligent to take the majority of the visits in the beginning when I was at school and I didn’t have as much freedom to visit him - that was so vital to our relationship and I’m so grateful to him for doing that. We’ve gone on many adventures and experienced so much together already, from halibut fishing, hiking (which wasn’t always positive), to grouse hunting and four wheeling. And I cannot wait for this summer in Alaska as a married couple! I know Bowen has lots of plans for Alaskan adventures. Bowen now works a rotational job as a diesel mechanic in Dutch Harbor, AK (where deadliest catch is filmed). This has allowed us to see each other pretty much every 3 weeks for the past year which has been an immense blessing. He plans to continue working this job while I live in Fairbanks, so we will still be long distance for the time being. We have faith that the Lord will sustain us through this, but we do ask for your prayers as we begin our marriage on a not typical schedule. We appreciate all your love and support and prayers for us! We will be driving back to Alaska in mid-July and we do ask for your prayers for a safe journey!
