It all began on what Meghan thought was going to be a relatively normal night out with her brother, Tim, at a country concert. She captioned a photo of them on Instagram "Lil Bro and I at @chaserice show last night," but she received a comment from someone named "kennymong" who asked, "Did your brother go to Trinity?" Given that her brother's Instagram was saturated with photos of Trinity baseball at the time, Meghan was immediately puzzled by this comment. When she began her womanly research, she immediately learned that not only did "kennymong" and her both attended the same high school, but they also shared one of the same best friends... the one and only, Andrew DiLeonardo! What's funny is that when they first began chatting, they figured there had been at least a dozen times over the years, aside from high school, when they were in the same place at the same time but never came to know each other. It's funny how timing works; even though they could've met in several different ways, they didn't until THE right time. January 18, 2015: Ken and Meg went out on their first date to the movies, "Get Hard" with Kevin Hart and Will Farrell. After doing a knee slapper before the movie even started, Meg swore Ken would never speak to her again. They sat in Ken's car after the movie to talk and listen to music. Ken claimed at the time that he "didn't like" country music. They said goodnight and planned to talk again soon... But ever since that night they have not gone a day without speaking to each other... The rest was history!
For their 6-year dating anniversary, Kenny and Meghan booked a vacation to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. What Meghan didn't know, was that this was going to be a vacation of a lifetime! Meghan enjoys shopping, food, and vineyards, for those who are unaware! What woman doesn't...? So, naturally, Meghan did some research before leaving and discovered a vineyard that was hosting a farmers market and craft fair on the Sunday before their anniversary. Looking at the weather forecast for the week, the one day that was guaranteed to be sunny was, of course, that Sunday. Meghan was torn... what to do... tanning and swimming? Or shopping, food, and wine? But Kenny, being the brilliant man that he is, suggested that they first go to the vineyard and farmers market, then return in the afternoon for the pool. What a game plan!! When they woke up, it was HOT. Like really, really hot… 90 degrees and humid hot... Meghan was about to put her hair up in one of her wacky buns, but she didn't... However, she was dressed in jean shorts and a yellow tank top with no make-up (C'MON!?) Kenny, on the other hand, TRIED to wear a nice button down shirt knowing what he had up his sleeve, but Meghan had him change knowing he'd be uncomfortably hot and that the location wasn't fancy (it was basically in the middle of the woods...) *This was only one red flag of a dozen from the day...!* They enjoyed a wonderful afternoon filled with laughter and memories! Meghan walked inside the gift shop at the end of their memorable (but HOT) afternoon, and as she was walking out, Kenny asked her to come take a photo by the vineyards since "it was a tradition." Meghan couldn't help but wonder, "...what tradition is he talking about?" but felt too guilty to say anything or question him! They walked over to the vineyards, and Kenny looked around for a minute... God must have seen Kenny struggling to pull off this proposal when he was trying to prop his phone up against a mailbox, since two women ironically also came over to take a photo. Kenny asked the nice ladies if they could take their photo, but he really had it on video! Meghan was COMPLETELY surprised! And the rest of their "anniversary vacation" was spent as an "engagement vacation" - it was perfect!
