Ybor City, founded in 1886 as the “Cigar Capital of the World,” is a historic Tampa neighborhood shaped by Cuban, Spanish, and Italian immigrants and known today for its iconic brick streets, cigar factories, and vibrant culture. Things to do in Ybor City: Dine at the Columbia, the oldest Spanish restaurant in the US. Stroll down 7th Ave for a cup of coffee, pastries, and to see free-roaming chickens. Watch cigar rolling at Tabanero Cigars or King Corona Cigars Café and Bar. Visit Centennial Park on Saturday (9am) for the Ybor City Market. Visit La France, for vintage shopping. Ride the free streetcar to travel Ybor City, Downtown Tampa, & Sparkman Wharf. Things to do in the Tampa area: Visit Busch Gardens or the Florida Aquarium. Take a walk or run along the Tampa Riverwalk. Shop, eat, and drink at Sparkman Wharfwhere many of the food vendors are in shipping containers.
