Zach and I started talking at the beginning of December 2022. After weeks of texting, calling, and video chatting, we finally decided to go on our first date. Zach took me out for sushi, and it went so well that we ended up going next door to a Mexican restaurant for drinks. We talked for hours, about our goals, our families, and what we wanted in a partner. I still remember wanting the night to end with a kiss, but Zach was a gentleman. Our first kiss came a little later, on New Year’s Day 2023, the perfect start to what would become our biggest adventure yet. We always talked about moving in together, getting engaged, getting married, buying a house, and then having kids, but life had other plans for us. 1.5 years into dating, we found out our little Elliott was on the way, and everything shifted in the best way possible. Zach completely surprised me with the most thoughtful proposal at a sunflower farm. He had help from my best friend, Macy, and his sister, Melinda, and somehow pulled it off while I thought he was at work! (Spoiler: he wasn’t.) Now here we are.
