The best ways to travel to Merida: 1) Fly to destination Mérida, YUC (MID). Connections available through Miami, Dallas and Houston. -Please note that Uber cannot be used from the airport. There is a taxi stand just as you leave customs. Tell them you want to go to centro, and they will charge you a flat rate of 280 Mexican pesos (you will likely want to give a small tip when you arrive at your destination). You will give your address directly to the cab driver. - The airport is a very convenient place to take out pesos. Multiple ATMs can be found inside the airport. 2) Fly to Cancun, YUC (CUN). Bus transportation available direct from Cancun airport to Historic Center of Mérida. (The bus is around $40 and takes about 4.5 hours)
