"forever is easy with you"

Yessenia and Nahson met on Hinge! Though they both were living in North Philadelphia, about 10 minutes from each other, it took this trendy dating app to bring these lovebirds together. Their first online connection happened a full year before they actually met in person. Initially, when Yessenia first saw Nahson's online profile, she was convinced he was already taken and had accidentally left his profile active. Despite her hesitation, she reached out, but that first exchange didn't go far. Fate intervened a year later when Yessenia stumbled upon Nahson's profile again. This time, a simple 'like' on one of his pictures sparked a new conversation. The exchange was different - filled with genuine curiosity and intention from both sides. To Yessenia's surprise, she discovered Nahson was indeed single and searching for the "real thing" that entire time. Their first date was set for the Friday after Thanksgiving in 2022, and it was truly love at first sight - just like in the movies! Both Yessenia and Nahson were committed to finding their forever love, someone to marry, start a family with, and experience life's journey with that "soulmate" everyone is suppose find. They did just that, in six months! Didn't I tell you they were committed? Their commitment to following their hearts, listening to God, and trusting one another completely led them to begin the most beautiful chapters of their lives together.

After months of meticulously planning their first vacation together to Yessenia's birthplace, Puerto Rico, they showed up to their booked photoshoot in Old San Juan. It was an extremely hot day (Yessenia's kryptonite) and the photographer only spoke Spanish, so Nahson had his work cut out for him to pull off the perfect proposal. However, one thing about Nahson is that he will make things happen no matter what! So in spanglish, he looped the photographer in on the proposal and showed her the ring during a quick bathroom break downtown. She was game! From there, the photographer guided the couple over to a quiet, breezy street with a beautiful beach in the background. There, the photographer suggested that Yessenia take a few solo "model photos with a hair flip." As Yessenia turned around to create that hair flip shot, she turned around and saw Nahson on one knee with an opened ring box! As a man who believes in keeping things simple, Nahson asked, "Yessenia, will you marry me?" (no extra fluff). Happily and tearfully she said YES! They rode that wave of love in the air all the way to city hall and privately eloped shortly after returning from this magical trip.

On January 3, 2024, Yessenia and Nahson joyfully welcomed their first child, baby Luna, into the world. Luna has been a precious gift to these new parents, who have quickly learned to navigate the challenges and joys of parenthood together. Despite the hurdles faced during Luna's first year, Yessenia and Nahson see her as a symbol of God's blessing upon their marriage. As Christians, this belief reminds them daily of both the fragility and the immense responsibility that comes with raising their little one, drawing them closer as they lean on each other for support. It's only fitting that their sweet baby will be joining her parents on their big day as their flower girl!
