It was a normal workday for Becky back in May 2014. Little did she know her future husband was going to be one of her patients. Her heart skipped a beat when she called him back. There was an immediate connection. After triaging him and hearing his history of motocross accidents, she said to herself, "this guy is going to need his own personal nurse one day." During his appointment she chatted with his Father who even saw the connection. Buddy whispered to her, "he's single." From that day on Becky found herself randomly thinking of Michael and he did for her. They both searched each other online to see if they had any mutual connections. Come to find out, Michael grew up with Becky's best friend's husband and was very close to the whole family. How did they not meet until now, they both wondered? God always has a plan. Almost a year had passed, even though they lived in the same small town, their paths never crossed until a hot Summer day at the local ball field. Becky was taking tickets and Michael was coming to watch some ball. They chatted for a bit and the connection between them was there just like the day at the doctors office. They parted ways and went almost 2 years before seeing each other again. July 7, 2017 they were both supporting a local brewery at it's Grand Opening. After sharing a conversation and some laughs, they took their first picture together. The next day their friendship became Facebook official. They would comment back & forth on posts and stay up-to-date on what each other was doing. March 2018, Becky tagged Michael in a post for a fundraiser for her son. He replied that he would be out-of-town for a motocross race, but would still donate. He sent her $1 via PayPal which he later added more. This sparked an immediate conversation. The morning of April 14, 2018, Becky was at her sons fundraiser while Michael was in Danville racing. That evening... they both laid under the stars together at the dirt track in Danville falling in love.

New Bern was rhe first city in America to celebrate George Washington’s Birthday. He came to New Bern and danced at Tryon Palace, right down the street from where we will be married. The Aerie Bed & Breakfast once housed a cousin of The Wright Brothers, who happened to share Orville’s name. It also housed the son of Caleb Bradham, the inventor of Pepsi Cola. In 1898, Caleb Bradham invented Brad’s drink. Later in the year it was renamed Pepsi Cola. The building where we are having dinner at The Chelsea was once used by Bradham for his business. New Bern is mentioned in some of Nicholas Sparks’ books... The Notebook, The Wedding, and A Bend in the Road.
