We are getting married!

A lot of people may assume we met because we are neighbors and both own homes on the same lake, but technically we met before that. Long story short, we met through a mutual friend and found out that we were soon going to be neighbors (Lauren was in the process of buying her house and Paul was finishing building his)! Over the next several months, both moved into their homes and once boat season rolled around, Lauren reached out to Paul to see if he was going to be out on the lake over the weekend. Lauren and her friends and Paul and his friends met up and instantly everyone hit it off! After becoming friends, Paul, finally made a move and asked Lauren out on date and the rest is history!

It was a beautiful sunny Friday and, for once, we did not have preset plans for the evening. We both had work trips the week prior and were excited to spend some time together and have a date night. When Lauren got home from work late that afternoon, Paul had suggested that they sit outside, have a drink and play some Scrabble since they both were fans of the game and had not played in a while! In the middle of the game, Paul told Lauren he had picked up a nice bottle of champagne for them to enjoy and asked that Lauren go inside and grab it while he takes his turn. Lauren didn't think too much about it right away since Paul knows she loves to drink bubbles and it was date night. As she was inside something clicked and she had a feeling he was up to something so she took her time getting the bottle and glasses. When she came out and walked around the table she looked down to see that Paul had cleared the board and spelled out "Will You Marry Me"! Of course Lauren said "Yes"! Even though it wasn't a legal Scrabble move, we both agree that Paul was the winner of that game!
