(Artillia's Side) Once upon a time, we met through mutual friends Michelle and Darrell (our Guests of Honor). I saw a picture of Trevor from Michelle and Darrell's wedding and asked about him. Michelle instantly thought we would be the perfect people for each other. Michelle asked Darrell to find out if Trevor would be interested in meeting someone and apparently he did... We actually exchanged numbers prior to going on a double date to become acquainted and we talked for hours. We also decided to meet for lunch at Carabbas on June 20, 2016 before meeting with Michelle and Darrell (it was a pre-date date) and we have been meeting there ever since on that exact date to celebrate our "Anniversary". (Trevor's Side) Darrell and I were at the gym and I was doing one armed curls with the 55 pound dumbbells, supersetting 325 pounds on the bench, and doing crunches in between sets (at least that's how I remember it; my side of the story, so I can decide how big the fish is, right...LOL). Anyway, Darrell said Michelle wanted to know if I would be interested in meeting her co-worker. I said, "not really...what's her name" (so I could look her up on Facebook, of course). I thought the name Artillia was very unique and I gave Darrell the go ahead. We did eventually talk by phone and she was so impressed by my phone presence; she insisted we meet for lunch. We met at Carabbas, did more talking than eating, and we hugged once I walked her back to her car and opened the door. That was just the beginning and the start of Chapter 1.
(Artillia's Side) On Friday, May 3, 2019, Trevor called me during the day to tell me we had dinner plans and the movies, which seemed pretty typical. Little did I know, he was planning a dinner I would never forget with the help of our matchmakers. After we got dressed and left the house, he said we had to make a quick stop; which was to pick up Michelle and Darrell to join us for dinner. I was excited to see them since we hadn't hung out in a while; still no idea what the night had in store. On our way to dinner, Trevor said he wanted to stop by the beach on Mayport Naval Base because Michelle and Darrell didn't get to go the night of our first double date. It seemed kind of random; I mentioned Michelle and Darrell may want to eat first, but they quickly said they were good and could wait. (Trevor's Side) Okay, I'll take it from here... Once I got the ring, I talked to Michelle and Darrell at the gym earlier in the week to help with The Proposal. I knew it would mean a lot to AJ for them to be involved. By the time we made it on base and to the beach; it was dark, no moonlight and about to rain... I decided to ask Michelle to take a picture of us on the steps of the dock (just to test the picture outcome before moving forward; I knew The Proposal had to be documented for show and tell). With the help of Michelle and Darrell's cell phone flash lights; we proceeded to execute the plan (that I was making up on the spot). We walked down onto the beach and I asked Michelle to take another picture of us with my phone. Then I told AJ she should use her phone, which I conveniently dropped into the sand. She bent down and I bent down on one knee to pick up her phone. I stayed down and pulled the ring box out of my back pocket and held it open. She didn't notice the ring because she was too busy wiping the sand off her phone. When she looked down at me, she dropped the phone back in the sand and now she loves the beach... Next Chapter; June 19.
