At Long Beach State. We were the last two that came into a dance class. Folk and Square. The teacher was the easiest. All we did was square danced.
We found out our families came from the Boston area. Jamie's from Brighton and Wayne's from Shirley. I was joking about the term "cook out" rather than "bar-b-que". From then on we laughed about so much eastern habits.
Wayne played football and track at Cerritos Junior College. At CSUB he was in track. His sport was a hammer thrower. For many years he held the 5th best distance throw for CSULB. Wayne had the opportunity to practice with the great Hal Connelly, 5 time Olympic Hammer Thrower for the USA. Jamie played four sports at Pasadena City College: Volleyball, Basketball, Softball and Field Hockey. Proudly receiving Athlete of The Year and being given a life sport pass for all PCC sporting events. At CSULB one season of Volleyball and two years of Basketball. We went to the National Tournament in Basketball placing 5th. Two years undefeated in league and conference. Long Beach did not have many sports for women. Outside of school Jamie played AA professional Softball (no we did not get any money). Also participated in club Field Hockey. Jamie participated in many Field Hockey National Tournaments. She had the opportunity to tryout for the USA Field Hockey team.
$800 a month before taxes and deductions. Our house payment was $127 PITI, so we stretched our budget and had a pool put in so we could enjoy our own home. But we could not afford to put in a jacuzzi. We built our own patio but had the slab poured.
