We're getting married!

I had missed my senior homecoming due to being in Disneyland for dance and I decided to go to Oakmont's homecoming just a few weeks later with my best friend, Omi. Well about 2 weeks before homecoming, I get a text from Omi saying how Tyler had just asked her to be his date. As happy as I was that my best friend had a date, I was also a tad bit upset that now I would be at another school's homecoming by myself. So, I told Tyler and Omi that they needed to find me a date. October 3, 2022 rolls around and I am in Disneyland. I get a text from Tyler saying he may have just found me a date. He sends me a photo of this boy on his phone TOWERING over his friends and I said, "yeah he'll do". So, Tyler sends this guy, Gavin, my snapchat and he adds me. We start talking a little bit and just a few days before homecoming Gavin asks me if I'd like to be his date. Of course, I said yes. October 15, I get to Omi's house, and we are getting ready for this dance. We are both excited that we have 2 really cute dates. I was mostly just excited to have a date. I knew it wasn't going to go anywhere. After all, I was a senior and he was a Junior. We were at 2 different schools. It was just one night, just have a really fun last homecoming. We get a text from the boys saying that they were here. Giggling, we run downstairs to greet them. Fully expecting to have a semi awkward date with this random boy, I go to greet Gavin and the second we locked eyes, I had this weird feeling. Immediately I had butterflies, my heart dropped to my stomach, I felt a little dizzy, and I felt as though I was outside of my own body. I said hi and just started smiling. We walked to his truck, and he doesn't open the door... We are driving to take photos at the park and there is no music playing... We get to the park, and I don't know how to put on his boutin eer. Yet somehow, I didn't notice any of it. I was just focused on this random boy that I just met. I was focused on how cute he was, how tall he was and how big his muscles were. He was cute, and as excited as I was, I was sad I would probably never see him again. Anyways, were taking photos and we immediately hit it off. It was like we had been friends forever, like we actually LIKED each other. After photos and dinner, we head to the dance. We're partying and having fun. After the dance we go to this random guy's house and this guy's mom was making us all dance with her. It was surprisingly fun. Finally, it's time for Gavin to take me home. He's helping me get all my stuff out of the truck and I start to grab my things to head inside, when all of the sudden this kid leans over and kisses me. I've known him for maybe 4 hours, but it felt like 40 years. We kissed and I just knew. I get inside and start telling my friends all about my night with this boy and I say "So, I'm probably gonna marry him" Well, fast forward, November 4, 2022 Gavin asked me to be his girlfriend. We kept hanging out after homecoming, ALOT. And he finally asked me. On November 8, 2025 Gavin asked me to be his eternal companion. His wife, his forever. On that day, I had the exact same feeling I did as when we first met. My heart dropped to my stomach; I felt dizzy and like I wasn't in my own body. I had butterflies and I couldn't stop smiling. I always knew he'd be my forever. 3 crazy years later, I get to marry the love of my life.

I had just finished up with water polo practice and my homie Tyler was asking me if I had planned to go to our schools homecoming that was coming up, to which I responded "no, I don't like going to dances and I only ever go if a girl wants me to". He then tells me that he secured a date for homecoming whose a senior (me and Tyler were juniors) and that she has a friend who is also a senior that is gonna go with them and she does not yet have a date, and asks me if I wanna take her. I responded with "Ouwie ill take a cougar, you got a picture of her?" he shows me and I go "dang yeah ill take her". He gives me her snapchat and we started talking, and Tyler sends her a picture of me shirtless right after practice that may have secured the bag for me. So we chatted it up for 2 ish weeks and I asked her to go to homecoming with me somewhere in those two weeks and she says yes, we plan out the whole homecoming day but still hadn't met each other in person. Fast forward to homecoming day and we are going on 'blind' date, me and Tyler get to his dates house where they both were getting ready, she comes out and my first thoughts were "this is my first dance with a senior baddie". We head to my truck and the key fob was dead so I had to unlock my door first and then unlock hers, after she was standing at the passenger door awkwardly waiting for me to open it for her. The date from that point until we got to the school was a little awkward and I wasn't completely aware that I was being weird because just her presence made me nervous the whole time, but after we got to the school we warmed up to each other pretty well and she started to hang around closer to me. The homecoming festivities continued to tylers car where all 4 of us got dutch, I was laying on Megan and grabbed her phone, put my number in labeled under 'Gav' with 2 red hearts next to it which is still my contact to this day. After dutch we went to my other homie Nicks' house, where his mom made all 4 of us dance with her. After we were done there, it was time to take Megan home, which was when she started giving me directions to her house which was all the way on the other side of Roseville which wasn't the greatest and still isn't. As she was getting out of the truck, I came over and kissed her, walked her to her doorstep and kissed her some more, which was when her mom came onto the ring doorbell saying the front door was locked and that the garage door was left unlocked for her. Embarrassed, we walked to the garage door said our goodbyes. We continued to chat it up and message each other every day, got together again for a date, and many more after that. The 4th of November in 2022, I asked her to be my girlfriend with a half heart necklace that had my name on it with my birthstone, and I showed her that I had one with her name and stone on it. Fast forward to the 8th of November in 2025, I asked Megan if she would be with me for eternity and marry me. I knew that she knew I was going to propose sooner or later but the look in her eyes showed me that she still had the feeling and sparkle from when we first met. I couldn't help but smile ear to ear after hearing her say "yes", knowing that she felt the same as I did and that we just began our forever, together.
