First Date

10.31.2017

We were in the same major for 1.5 years before we started talking. Peter lived with our mutual friend, Jimmy, who would always tell Kelsey he was busy and told her to ask Peter instead. Soon after that we started doing homework together in Watts Hall and eventually, Peter said "Kelsey, you know I have a crush on you, right?" We went on our first date on October 31, 2017 at Brio in Easton Town Center.

Long Distance Love

2,200 Miles Apart

Peter moved to California to work at Tesla and Kelsey moved to Indiana to work for ArcelorMittal. At first it was difficult to find the time to call each other with the 2 hour time zone difference. But we managed to find time to call each other every day and traveled at least once a month. After a year of long distance, we decided to start our life together in Chicago.

Engaged

05.02.2020

Peter had been planning the perfect engagement, enlisting the help of friends. But as the country shut down due to COVID-19, he realized his original plan wasn't going to work. He picked a day to propose and waited for the perfect moment. Kelsey wanted to go for a walk and get a Saturday morning coffee and he realized this would be his best chance. After picking up our coffee at The Spoke & Bird, we went for a walk through the Garden surrounding the Henry B. Clarke House. Peter took off his mask, got down on one knee and proposed.
