We’re getting married!

Zach and Briauna met through Cru at Oregon State University. Cru is a campus ministry group that helps students know God and join in community with other students. They would go to Cru events together and got to know one another on drives to morning prayer and church.

Zach and Briauna went on what they considered their first date on December 6th. They went to coffee at Allen Bros because Briauna had a gift card (Zach doesn’t drink coffee but he got a mocha because Briauna said she liked them). There weren’t any seats left so they went to Briauna’s apartment and watched a high quality movie, Hot Rod (one of Zach’s favorites).

Zach wanted to meet Briauna's family before they started dating so on January 8th they drove down to Springfield for the day. After a day of driving around in the gator to see the farm and meeting Briauna's family they drove back to Corvallis where Zach asked Briauna to be his girlfriend!

The summer of 2022 Zach and Briauna went on a lot of different adventures! Some of which were hikes to Blue Pool, God's Thumb, and visiting Crater Lake with friends. Along with going on hikes and enjoying God's Creation together they also found themselves playing a lot of board games like Catan and Wingspan!

Zach and Briauna celebrated one year together on January 8, 2023! They went on a hike outside of Corvallis and went out to dinner downtown.

Zach and Briauna both graduated from Oregon State University after winter term 2023. Zach graduated with a degree in mechanical and manufacturing engineering and Briauna graduated with a degree in agricultural sciences.

Last summer Zach and Briauna went on a road trip to Glacier National Park. They spent two full days hiking around the park and got to see many thing such as mountain goats, beautiful views and even a bear! This has been their favorite trip they have gone on together.

Zach and Briauna had planned to go on a hike to God’s thumb but with the rain in the forecast they decided to go to a spot that Zach had heard of called Fishing Rock. As they were looking out at the ocean, Zach pulled out a scrapbook he had made that contained memories of them from the past two years. He had included funny stories, notes that they had given to each other, and a collection of different adventures the two of them had shared. Near the end Zach had written “I am excited for the many adventures we have in store, but I am ready to start our biggest adventure yet...by making today our engagement day!” As Briauna read these words Zach got down on his knee and asked her to marry him!
