We're Getting Married!

League of Legends, 2014, do I need to say more? But really, we met through mutual friends while playing a video game called League of Legends. Even though we went to the same school, we mostly interacted through the game. We played the game together for maybe a year before I fizzled out of playing it altogether. It wasn't until August 2024 when I happened to download a very niche app called Hinge... hold the judgement please (haha). He was my first match and it wasn't long until we went on our first date to Bully Brew and Grand Forks Comic Con. He bought us a set of Legos at the convention to build that same night. It was the nerdiest but the most perfect first date I had ever had. Less than two weeks later, Downtown Grand Forks, I asked him to be my boyfriend during a photography date (and yes, I do have his excited and shocked reaction on camera). A little over a year later, he asked me to be his wife in the exact same spot. Our time together so far has been full of whimsical dates, staying up late just to make each other laugh, and just genuinely enjoying each others company each and every day. I am so excited for more fun adventures and our future together.

You know it almost doesn’t feel real. Meeting through a friend and playing League of Legends together in high school. Yes, League of Legends is responsible for me meeting my wife. After she graduated, we might have said “Hi” about once every year or so. As fate would have it, we would find each other on the “apps”. A quick “How’ve things been” and “Let’s get coffee” eventually led to an amazing first date. From there, it felt like we were picking things right up from high school. Same interests, same goals, same views on life. It just felt right. Dates to conventions, practicing photography together, and watching each other’s favorite shows were just a few ways I fell even deeper in love. It felt like we were meant to be together after our time apart. I’m so happy life gave me this chance to marry someone I cherish so dearly. It’s going to be a nice life together with CeNedra.
