Andrew and Callie met in August 2013 at UW-Whitewater. The two were part of a small summer school program called the STAR program. In total, the STAR program had sixteen students. On the first weekend of the program, the majority of the program’s participants went home but Andrew and Callie were two of the few students left on campus. That Sunday, Andrew decided to go for a walk around campus. After telling Callie his plans for a walk, she sheepishly asked if she could come along. He agreed and the two were off. Throughout the walk, the two talked and tried to get to know each other. Andrew teased Callie at how terrible her answers were since she was so shy and didn’t talk much. Later that night, Andrew emailed Callie “get to know you” questions from the internet in an effort to get her to open up more. The two kept emailing each other similar questions back and forth until they started dating shortly after.

Using her upcoming birthday as a disguise, Andrew decided to plan a big getaway for him and Callie in Chicago. He gave Callie little details about their getaway as he anxiously awaited the big day. Finally, the big day for the proposal came and the two got up early in the morning to drive to the Chicago Botanical Gardens. When they got there, the two started exploring the grounds. Andrew nervously looked around for the perfect spot to pop the question. Soon, the two came across a lake that overlooked the gardens and Andrew knew this was the best spot. The two sat down on a nearby bench to take in the beauty. They started casually talking and Callie got up to fix something on her shoe. When she sat back down and turned to Andrew, he was on one knee! He asked her to marry him and she immediately said yes. The two giddily explored the rest of the botanical gardens excited that they were finally engaged.

Callie and Andrew are the proud owners of a condo in Madison, Wisconsin. At their condo, they love playing games together, cooking together, watching movies together, and overall just being together. They are the happy parents of their fur-baby-kittens, Scout and Poppy. Both Andrew and Callie are excited to start the next chapter of their lives as husband and wife. The two are overjoyed and grateful by the amount of love and support they have received since their engagement.
