We are finally doing it!!

They met next to the dumpsters. You read that right! The dumpsters. They both worked as managers in restaurants next door to each other. They saw each out out back one day and shortly after that, they went out for some drinks at their favorite local dive bar, spending the rest of the night getting to know each other. They found out they had way too much in common to ignore it. It helped they are both cute. In the over seven years since then, they almost never spend a day apart.

When you are together for as long as Luke and Jessica have been, you have numerous discussions about the future and your lives together. But Luke was still able to make the proposal a surprise. Luke used Jessica's love of Benihanas, cheesecake, and going out with friends to cover up his plans. Jessica bought it hook line and sinker that one of their friends "hadn't been to Benihana's before and we needed to take him there." (Jessica never questions plans when her favorite restaurant is involved.) Their friends helped Luke by distracting Jessica with breakfasts out or excuses to have Luke "help them build a fence" to keep Jessica in the dark while he looked for the perfect ring. The three couples took a trip to Portland for dinner and desert on April 10th. Luke popped the question while Jessica was paying the bill. (She has the ugly crying pictures to prove it!) Looking back, she should have seen it coming.

It was a happy coincidence. Luckily they are both Irish. **Don't forget to wear something green!**
