We met on the second day of college at a Welcome Week event. My roommate at the time wanted to introduce me to this guy in her group, so I walked up to the boy with a golf hat and a snow cone and introduced myself. He said, "Hey, I'm Ben" and from there on we were the best of friends. Almost every night for the first few months of college we would sneak off to hang out in a library study room (325 iykyk). Just about everyone we met thought we were dating, but we assured them that we were just friends; they'd just roll their eyes and laugh. From there, we stayed just as close, but liked other people or shrugged off the idea of dating. We both, now admittedly, thought about dating one another from time to time, but it never went farther than talk with close friends. It wasn't until after I went on an awful date and called Ben for the entire hour-long drive home that I realized I really had feelings for him. Alas, I went on in silence. About a month later, Ben was staying at my house in Nashville with some other friends of ours. He had bought a cheaper flight a day after the others had left and that night changed everything. As we sat on my upstairs couch playing Super Mario Bros on the Wii, a conversation about making distance between us arose. I was confident that we could never date other people being as close as we were. Five hours, no sleep, a plane ride, and three months of talking long distance over the summer and we officially started dating. I guess you could say the rest is history. Xoxo - Abby
