No driving required! Our venue is a part of the Hawley Silk Mill The Hawley Silk Mill is on the National Register of Historic Places. This building, which was once a thriving silk mill, is the largest Bluestone Building in the world. Built in 1880, the former factory was repurposed and now houses shops, an art gallery, event space, professional offices and a fitness center.
Hawley is Lake Wallenpaupack’s hometown. The second largest lake in Pennsylvania features 52 miles of shoreline. There are four seasons of outdoor recreation including kayaking, fishing, swimming, plenty of walking trails, boat rides and rentals. For a different way to get around town, park the car and check out the Hawley Bike Share Program. Visitors can take advantage of complimentary bike rentals at four locations around town including here at The Settlers Inn and our sister property Ledges Hotel. Bikes are available in men’s and a women’s sizes. Each bike comes with a lock, helmet and removable basket for all your fun purchases. The Hawley Trail crosses the grounds of The Inn and traverses the Lackawaxen River. Walk along the towpath on the property past remnants of the D & H Canal. Connect to Lock 31 Trail in Canal Park at one end and trails in Bingham Park on the other. Interpretive signs along the way tell of Hawley’s history, growth and natural resources.
