How We Met...

Hinge: The App That's Meant to Be Deleted

Believe it or not, Luke & Andrea met on Hinge. After a few weeks of playful banter and conversation via texting, the couple had their first date at Fun-Fore-All mini-golf in Cranberry, PA. Fun fact: Luke thought Andrea lived in Grove City and Andrea thought Luke lived in Pittsburgh, so they were both surprised to find out that they lived only 20 minutes apart. The two made a bet during mini-golf: if Andrea won, Luke would have to sing her a song. If Luke won, Andrea would have to meet his dog, Noah. Luke won by two strokes, so they ate dinner at Emiliano's before going to Luke's apartment complex to take little Noah on a walk. Fast forward to eight hours later at 3am, and the two were still talking. It was a perfect night to kick off an exciting and wonderful relationship.

The Proposal...

The Perfect Cover Story

After moving into their new home in Cranberry Heights, Luke and Andrea got busy preparing to host their first event: a game night with some friends from their Sing Hosanna! musical theater group. As Andrea worked on unpacking boxes, cleaning the home, and preparing food and games, Luke was busy conspiring the perfect proposal. He asked Tyler, Matt, Nathan, and Andrew if they could learn a song and then sing it so he could propose during game night. Naive Andrea had all the clues to figure out the plan, but she didn't realize what Luke had been up to: the face mask that was oddly dropped in the Harry Potter closet under the stairs (where the ring was actually hidden), the request to help Luke decorate his office in the middle of the week (to keep her out of the house and away from any accidental ring-finding activities), the random phone call from her mother to see if anything had happened recently (she was seeing if the proposal had occurred yet), and the promise that they would go ring-shopping on Saturday the 20th to get her finger sized (but Luke was secretly going to propose on the 19th). She never saw it coming. The Sing Hosanna friends got together on Friday the 19th for dinner and games. When Matt carried his keyboard into the house, he said, "I thought we could sing some karaoke songs tonight." Andrea regrettably thought that she shouldn't have left her karaoke machine at school... but it was all part of the plan. After eating dinner and playing a few games, Matt began playing the piano as he, Nathan, Tyler, and Andrew sang along with everyone else in the room. When Matt played "God Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts, Luke asked Andrea to dance. Halfway through the first song, he said, "I have a question for you." Andrea responded, "What?" and Luke got down on one knee and proposed. With tears in her eyes, Andrea exclaimed "Yes!" and their engagement began.
