It was 2009 at Florence High School that Kyle and I first met. I’ll never forget the first conversation we ever had. I was a little freshman crushing on a football star and terrified to even make eye contact. It was after school waiting in front of the gym sitting on the steps when it all went down. He asked if I was waiting on a ride and offered to stay with me until my dad showed up. I remember so clearly feeling like an idiot because all of a sudden my brain went to mush and I couldn’t figure out how to be a normal human being and just talk.. let’s just say he did most of the talking that day. Over the years we remained friends. Keeping in touch with each other when Kyle moved to Colorado for football after high school. Even though we were always flirtatious, it wasn’t until 2016 that we had our official first date. It wasn’t your typical go to dinner and a movie type date either. We went to Whataburger to grab some food and watch the Laker game. It was PERFECT! That first date set the standard for our relationship. We continued to do things that we actually enjoy. We didn’t do the cliche things just because you’re suppose to. We’ve just always been us and I’m so thankful for that. November 19th 2017 is when Kyle would change our life forever. At a casual family bbq watching the Raider game, as we do every Sunday, he popped the question and I will still never forget the way I felt in that moment. Looking back now I still can’t believe that I’m engaged to that guy I had a crush on when I was 14, but thank goodness for Whataburger and Laker games for making him fall in love with me and starting our forever♥️
