Kyle and Emma met in high-school during a child development class - because nothing brings two teens together like fake pregnancy bellies. They messaged a bit on social media, but the timing wasn't right. Fast forward to February 2020: fate (and Kyle's Gran) had other plans. Gran was admitted to the care facility that Emma happened to be working at as a certified nursing assistant. One day, Emma casually mentioned that she *used* to have a crush on Kyle. A certain family member (yes, we see you) immediately spilled the tea- and Kyle wasted no time sliding into Emma's Facebook DMs. Their first date was at the Jefferson Street Grill in Mount Pleasant - nobody spilled anything or was ghosted, so that was a win. Not long after, on February 22nd 2020, Kyle swept Emma off her feet and asked her to be his girlfriend - inside his camper, parked in his Gran's driveway like a true gentleman.. Romance isn't dead, folks. Emma may have self sabotaged her own proposal *several times* - but Kyle persevered and was able to pop the question (eventually). On October 21st 2022, Kyle was finally able to propose to Emma in front of the willow tree at Wilson's Orchard in Iowa City. Since then, they've survived COVID, bought not one but two houses, graduated college, started a career change, and - because apparently that wasn't enough - started raising chickens like total backyard pros. From writing papers to collecting eggs, these two have truly have made a pretty unbeatable team. They look forward to growing their homestead in the Mount Pleasant countryside, and starting a family.
