As most of you know, Dan and Jillian go way back to middle school. In fact, their first "kiss" was actually in 8th grade. Practically strangers at the time, they were participating in your typical, awkward, middle school game of truth or dare in the Warren's basement. They were dared to kiss each other. They both leaned to the same side and their noses bumped. They embarrassingly laughed it off, adjusted their heads, and had their first kiss. But it wasn't until high school that their relationship really began. Freshman year, they were in all of the same classes and became close. By Sophomore year, they were texting every night, hanging out alone on weekends, and truly became best friends. Jillian helped Dan in Spanish, they worked together on biology homework, and they got through those geometry proofs together. Jillian asked Dan to the Sadie Hawkins dance in March of their sophomore year and they went together on April 23rd 2010 (see photo at bottom for reference). By April 24th 2010, Dan asked Jillian to be his girlfriend and the rest is history.
9 and a half years later, they got engaged. It was your typical September Sunday. Dan asked Jillian to go out to brunch at Artisan in Southport. At the time, she thought it was a bit strange- why couldn't we just go to the diner or Chip's instead of a fancy Sunday brunch? Hmmm maybe something is coming. But brunch came and brunch ended without a ring. Dan drove them home to Jillian's parent's house after brunch and the mood was definitely a bit low, as she was just coming down from some internal excitement over the idea of possibly getting engaged. He pulled up to the driveway, she got out of the car and started walking up the path to the house. Suddenly, Jillian heard her name. As she turned around, she saw Dan walking up the path to the house with a box in hand. He got down on one knee and popped the long awaited question. Of course she said yes! Soon after, Jaime and Jenna popped out of the bushes with a camera. Inside the house, both of their families were waiting to celebrate with a full brunch feast. If you know Dan and Jillian, you know that this day was beyond perfect. Brunch, their families, champagne, and an amazing engagement.
