On Sunday September, 21, 2025 Ian asked Meghan to go out to dinner. He picked the restaurant (a rare occurrence) and also politely encouraged her to wear something a little nicer than the sweatshirt she had on. They ate at their favorite taco restaurant in downtown Milford, Don Rene’s. After dinner they walked around the harbor area eventually crossing over a bridge, aptly nicknamed the Kissing Bridge. Ian encouraged Meghan to look for ducks in the water to distract her as he tried to dig the ring out of his pocket that he had wrapped in a paper towel for safe keeping. Once the ring was free he tapped Meghan on the shoulder and got down on one knee saying, “I love you very much. Will you make me the happiest man alive?”. Meghan, completely surprised responded, “Are you serious right now!?!”. They hugged and Meghan put the ring on. Some boy going by on a bike saw them hugging and said “It looks like you’re having a real nice time, I wish you the best of luck” as sincerely as a twelve year old can. Afterwards, they stopped by Meghan’s parent’s house and surprised them with the news. They popped champagne and celebrated. Next stop was for ice cream at their favorite spot, Walnut Beach Creamery. They face-timed Ian’s parents in the car, waking Ian’s dad from a deep sleep. There were lots of screams of joy and excitement. It was a night they will always remember!
