David and I met all the way back in high school. It was 2011, my junior year. We had mutual friends who were dating at the time, and after realizing we both had a crush on each other, they introduced us. We texted and talked for a little while. He told me he was going to marry me AND drug me on a wild goose chase (pun intended for those of you who have heard that story), before we even started dating! Apparently that sealed the deal for me and the rest is history!
David and I dated on and off from 2011-2018. We have had some ups and downs but side by side, we have grown into the people we are today. When dating for 7 years, you make some pretty great memories together. One of my favorites is the day David decided to take me to our favorite hiking spot along the River Road. We are walking along a path, a pond next to us, when he stopped and asked “would you marry me if I got you a rock this big?” (It was a pebble... but I of course said yes.) He then pointed to a huge boulder and said “would you marry me if I got you a rock this big??” I giggled, going along with it and said “DUH!” As I kept walking, he asked one more time, “What about this one? Would you marry me if I got you this rock?” I turned around to him down on one knee with a beautiful diamond (that I couldn’t have picked out better myself), and asked me to marry him. It was everything I could have asked for! Of course I said yes! Little did we know, that wouldn’t be the only exciting thing to come our way that year! We soon found out we were expecting a baby girl just 7 months later, which is why we decided to have a decently long engagement. She is now three months old and as perfect as can be! We are so very excited to share our special day with our family and loved ones! Through the Panama City Beach trips, all of the holidays spent, falling off a retaining wall (LOL) and bringing our beautiful Vivienne Jo into the world, we have created some amazing, unforgettable memories together. Now here we are! In just a couple of short months we will officially be Mr. and Mrs. Decker!
