$5 per car to park. Swim in lake Hartwell. Access to picnic tables.
This waterfront park is named in dedication to the City of Clemson's Mayor. It is a linear park of just over one half mile long and connecting the current Jaycee Park on College Avenue with the area behind the restaurants bordering Hwy 123. This passive park encourages the use of the lake while extending the streetscape features on College Avenue. It is the natural area aspects of the park that are emphasized for public enjoyment. The Pavilion at Abernathy Park features an open air design with two restrooms, picnic tables and fireplace.
Nettles Park is Clemson’s largest park and holds the administrative offices for the Parks and Rec. department. Nettles also provides two youth baseball fields, one girls softball field, two adult softball fields, seven regulation tennis courts, and two regulation soccer fields, all lighted. The park also has a play structure, picnic shelter, and restrooms plus a Dog Park, at the rear of the park near the soccer fields.
Jaycee Park, which is located at 149 N. Homestead Road and 238 West Jones Avenue (depending on what side of the creek you are on) in Pickens, SC, is a park with something for everyone. Town Creek meanders through the 23 acre recreational area with access to both sides of the park made available via Collins Bridge. The park boasts 2 lighted tennis courts, the Playground of Promise, a Picnic Pavillion which is also lighted with fans, 2 picnic shelters, 2 lighted youth baseball fields, concession and bathrooms, 1 lighted senior baseball field, 1 lighted football field with grandstands and pressbox and 2 paved parking lots. Jaycee Park adjoins Town Creek Trail and the 42 acres that encompass the Pickens Recreation Center and its fields.
