How do I get to Chiang Rai from the U.S.?

Answer

You can fly into Chiang Rai Airport (CEI) via a connecting flight from Bangkok (BKK), or take a direct international flight to Bangkok and then a domestic flight to Chiang Rai.

Do I need a visa?

Answer

Currently, U.S. citizens can enter Thailand for up to 30 days without a visa, as long as your passport is valid for at least 6 months. All travelers must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online before travel - this isn't a visa but is a required electronic entry form.

Is it easy to drive in Chiang Rai?

You can rent a car, our recommendation is to use Grab (Thailand Uber) or local taxi's/tuktuks. Driving in Thailand is different than driving in the US. Driver sits on the right and drives on the left side of the road.

For a full Lanna wedding experience, guests are welcome to wear traditional Thai-Lanna attire. Semi-Formal: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses.
