What are the preferred travel dates?

Answer

Our wedding weekend will take place Thursday, October 8th through Monday, October 12th. Our Zorba Villas reservation coordinates with these dates as well as our activities and ceremony. We hope you can carve out this time to celebrate and "vacation" with us in gorgeous Tulum!

Do I need a passport to travel to Mexico?

Answer

Yes! If you do not have a passport or yours has expired, please make sure you have applied at least 3 months in advance. Recommended is 6 months prior just to be safe! As long as your passport is valid at the time of entry, you will be granted access into Mexico. Can we bring our kids?

Answer

We really love your children! However we prefer our wedding to be a kid-free environment for safety and for parents to get some much-needed R&R.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says "and guest" then yes. If not, we really prefer that it is just YOU!

Is there a shuttle to and from the airport to the hotel?

Answer

Yes, please check our "travel" information tab. Our wedding concierge service team will arrange shuttle service for you as you book your reservations and flights. Please email reservation.yourweddingplanner@gmail.com for pricing and ease of booking. Our concierge service will be collecting flight times to arrange accommodations in groups for a discounted rate if preferred.

Do I need to exchange Dollars to Pesos?

Answer

Credit/Debit cards are accepted at restaurants, convenient stores, and boutiques. But from our experience, it is good to have dollars or pesos to use for taxis and other miscellaneous expenses such as street vendor food. Taxi drivers will typically give you pesos in change so sometimes it is just easier to make that exchange beforehand. HOWEVER, the exchange rates at airports can be pricey (% wise) so we do not recommend waiting until you arrive to do so. There is widespread access to ATMs but the fees can be costly as well. Please contact our wedding concierge service for more information on money exchange.

What is the dress code for the ceremony?

Answer

We prefer Beach Attire Semi-Formal since our ceremony will be in the sand! Sundresses, maxi dresses, linen pants, short sleeve button ups and barefoot or flip flops/sandals will be perfect! Please see our "Events" tab for more information.

Question

Do I need to contact my cell service provider before I arrive?

Answer

Yes! Please do not make this costly mistake! You will want to contact your cell phone provider to set up accommodations on your plan for travel to avoid fees. Most providers have an international plan you can add for a short time period. Please check your options with your provider. A note on this: Please ensure either you or a member of your party has phone access. It is much easier to travel Mexico with cell service access for maps, taxis, etc.

Do I need to contact my bank for travel?

Answer

Yes, please let your banks and credit card companies know your travel dates prior to arrival to avoid any hassle! Most major banks allow you to create a travel alert on your banking app.

Is Zorba an all-inclusive property?

Answer

No, food and beverage costs will not be included in our guests' stay. TJ & I worked diligently to find a property that allowed us to preserve the privacy and authenticity of the beach town that we will experience at Zorba Tulum. Each private villa at Zorba is equipped with a kitchen and just recently, a pop up food shack was added to the property, providing tastes of Mexico 10:30-4:30 daily. Zorba is also located in boutique hotel zone and within walking distance to many of Tulum's best restaurants, yoga studios, bars and shops! *Private in house chef services with Irma are also available for breakfast and dinner.
