The span of Columbia River near Hood River is one of the country’s top spots for windsurfing and kiteboarding! There are several companies that offer lessons and rentals if you're interested. Check out Cascade Kiteboarding, Kite the Gorge, Brian's Kiteboarding, and more! *We have never kiteboarded nor windsurfed, so we're not sure which company is best!
2nd Street Stairs
Want a quick, efficient workout? Hike the 415 stairs in the center of Hood River! The “2nd Street Stairs” are a historic route from downtown Hood River at 2nd and State streets up to eastside Heights neighborhoods, with access to the Indian Creek trailhead.
Walk Downtown
Downtown Hood River is the original historic business district, revitalized to maintain its historic character. With dozens of blocks of retail shops, boutiques, coffee shops, restaurants, wineries, galleries and more, downtown is an active area for residents and visitors.
