The lakefront Colectivo is one of our favorite places to sit, inside or outside. Views of the marina, great coffee and a wide selection for breakfast, lunch, or a snack.
Down the street from Anna's old apartment, we frequent Rocket Baby for the delicious bakery items and bread. Their monkey bread can't be beat! Cranky Al's is right across the street if you're looking for something more savory (and a donut of course.)
Similar to Milwaukee Public Market, this is an open market-style environment where visitors can find ethnic food stalls, casual meals, craft beer and cocktails, or more classic fine dining. Great for a group of people, there is be something for everyone!
We love walking here for a casual dinner. They have an extensive list of both simple and deluxe sushi rolls, as well as Thai entrees. It's always hard to choose!
Laid-back seafood restaurant & oyster bar amid the busy surrounds of Public Market. Anna used to walk here to get a lobster roll as a reward for finishing exam week in college.
Cozy restaurant and bar serving up comfort classics such as BLTs & pizza, salads and charcuterie. And of course beer, wine & cocktails. Great for happy hour!

A true East side staple. From all day eats, to brunch, dinner, or dessert, Comet will have what you need. Many things on their menu have vegan and gluten free options for those who need.
We love this rooftop bar with great views of the city! Tre Rivali is on the ground level if you're looking for an amazing dinner.
Specialty cocktail lounge known for their ice cream drinks & cocktails. An eclectic spot that feels like an upscale tiki bar in your grandma's basement. If basements aren't your thing, their patio is great too.
One of Jack's favorite bars. True midwestern classic bar with music and drinks in Bay View.
Traditional Spanish tapas & paellas with an upbeat vibe and colorful patio. Great for sharing with a group!
Beautiful restaurant with Korean-style BBQ meats cooked on lava stones, with tapas & cocktails.
Bike, walk, or run on the Oak Leaf Trail! Jack and Anna (and Goose) love to utilize the pedestrian path. The city views and greenery from nature are a scenic gem of the area. If you head north on the trail you'll see an entrance to Hubbard Park beer garden to stop for a beer. If you're headed south, take a few steps down to lakefront Colectivo for a coffee break.
We love this place for their cocktails, but also for their easygoing atmosphere. They have outdoor seating on a heated patio and it's encouraged to bring your own food in. We love to do picnics/potluck appetizers and drinks with friends here- It's also dog friendly!
Our favorite beer garden! Lakefront views, great food and drinks, occasional live music, what else do you need?
If you plan on bringing your little one, Betty Brinn has lots of great activities for kids and families.
We both spent a lot of time at the Art Museum in college. Walk around and enjoy the art and architecture!
If you're looking for a challenge, try rock climbing at Adventure Rock. They have lots of space to climb and socialize at any of their locations.
