It took Susan approximately 2 years to complete the official bourbon trail, but plan a fun day to a visit some of the clustered distilleries and experience Kentucky's famed spirit.
A beautiful canyon system in East/Central Kentucky. We have spent many weekends hiking through the Gorge. There are many cabins available. We particularly like "The Bird's Nest". Trails for all level of hikers and dog friendly. If you are taking a day to explore the Gorge we highly recommend lunch/snack at Miguel's Pizza.
We are mebers of this wonderful zoo and love coming to the zoo whenever we have the chance. The zoo offers many evening events. You may have heard of this zoo thanks to our premature baby [though not so small anymore] hippo, Fiona. There are many other zoo babies to see, including Kendi, our newest Rhino, and the lion triplets.
Decent size greenhouse with an amazing abundance of beautiful plants and flowers. Often during the summer there is a butterfly exhibit.
One of our favorite coffee shops. While we frequent the Hyde Park location when walking the dogs, on the weekend we enjoy coming downtown for a coffee and then exploring Findlay Market
Cincinnati's oldest continuously-operated public market and our favorite place to get a Goetta-Egg-and-Cheese sandwich on the weekend at Eckerlin's. We also enjoy getting some treats from Blue Oven Bakery and looking at all of the available produce and proteins from local vendors.
One the breweries we most enjoy in Cincinnati - the rooftop has wonderful views of the city, and you can bring your own food from one of the delicious restaurants in OTR or the surrounding neighborhoods
Another of our favorite breweries in Cincinnati. The front patio area is perfect in the summer and dog friendly.
